What do you like about your role and the sectors you work in?
“Two things…the teams and the customers. The sales team that I work with and the wider teams that support us across the Gerflor and Gradus businesses are exceptional. We are all one family, and it is a great pleasure to work with enthusiastic and like-minded individuals. There is a remarkable team spirit across all the organisation, everyone is professional and highly competent and always happy to help me and my customers with all their project needs. The thing I like most about the various sectors I work in, is also my customers. Being able to assist them with their specifications, problem solve, and offer high quality and innovative flooring, wall covering and finishing solutions for all their requirements, budgets, and timescales is most rewarding to me.”
What challenges are driving many businesses today in the markets you work in?
"In the B2B contract sectors I am active in, there are many challenges that drive the marketplace. The location, the application, and the environment where the finished products will be installed, need to meet the expectations of the clients and all stakeholders involved in the project. A general rule of thumb is to provide world class interior construction products that deliver added value when it comes to building longevity and future proofing for generations to come. Solutions that combine exceptional technical performance with contemporary designs, whilst also being sustainable, durable, safe, and hygienic and for the project budget available, is something that I am always proud to assist with, as the business has an extensive offer to choose from.”
What are your favourite Gerflor and Gradus solutions and why?
“Where do I start? My favourite Gerflor solutions are GTI Max Technical Tiles, Tarasafe safety floors, and Gradus Carpets. From the Gradus offer I would say the new digital printed SureProtect Artwork wallcoverings for customised projects.”
“The GTI Max collections are unique and remarkable fast track innovations for Industrial, Retail and other Commercial hard working sectors. They are ideal for problem areas where there can be issues with subfloors or asbestos. They are versatile products that are easy to replace, or relocate if moving premises, and are also very easy to clean and are extremely durable. Scratch resistance thanks to their heavy-duty surface, and demonically stable, tiles can take up to a ton per wheel in weight, meeting the grade for many building types. As there is no or minimal subfloor preparation required, and because there is no need to close a site premises, this saves my customers time and money on all projects.”
“I also really enjoy taking to market the new Tarasafe Safeties ranges, which come with the revolutionary SparClean® surface finish for easy cleaning and maintenance. With many other benefits also including 12-year warranties, new revamped decors, being environmentally friendly with no Carborundum, can be installed in conjunction with our patented Clean Corner System for a complete hygienic turnkey solution, and with a price point that is affordable for all projects, these collections are on another level.”
“When it comes to Carpets, I am a big fan of the Gradus Cityscene and Brickworks Collections. Their rich and sumptuous designs, with a finish and feel of depth is world class. Not only do they feel amazing underfoot, the unique brick work surface texture looks stunning too. This carpet tile could win industry awards, as it is such an impressive and designer led product range, perfect for those interiors where a touch of luxury is required, this is by far the best carpet tile range I have ever seen.”
“Finally, from the Gradus portfolio, my favourite has got to be SureProtect Artworx. A bespoke wall cladding system, that offers the ability to transform an interior environment by printing a customised image onto a durable sheet, whilst also protecting the wall from everyday scuffs and scrapes. Perfect for when clients wish to unleash their creativity.”
What do you like doing in your spare time?
“In my spare time I enjoy many things, some of which include DIY, travelling and spending quality time with my lovely Husband Tim and our beautiful Son J.J. We recently visited France and the iconic Eiffel Tower and that was a trip to remember - good food, good wine, good places, and good people! As a family, we also enjoy raising funds for charities, one of our escapades to support this passion has included an ice dip in Finland at -28 degrees (the challenge was to last a minimum of 10 minutes, we in fact did 12.5 minutes - 3 times within a two-hour window!). We feel it is rewarding to give to others something back in the world we live in. It's lovely for the family to come together and help others along the way."
"We also spend many weekends at the various Leisure Parks across the UK. My son really enjoys visits to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, LegoLand etc - we get a different annual pass each year to enjoy the rides which he picks – we have a saying in our house ‘if the little one is happy … then we are happy. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than spending time together as a family.”
