Dementia is a journey, not a destination

It is a syndrome, usually of a chronic or progressive nature, caused by a variety of brain illnesses that affect memory, thinking, behaviour and ability to perform everyday activities.

Dementia is overwhelming not only for the people who have it, but also for their caregivers and families.
An "umbrella" term used to describe a range of symptoms associated with cognitive impairment.

People with Dementia often have trouble perceiving contrasts between surfaces, leading to trips and falls.

For example, it is important that people with Dementia can see where the floor ends and the wall begins, so there should be at least 30 points of light reflectance value (LRV) between these two surfaces.
