What do you like about your role and the sectors you work in?
“I’m a problem solver, and with the nature of my role, I do encounter a lot of different challenges that come can come up on any type of specification. Whether it is a refurbishment or new build construction project, it is rewarding to present the offers from both the Gerflor and Gradus combined portfolio. There is such a broad range of floorings, wall coverings, interior finishing, and accessory solutions to choose from, its fantastic that I can tailor the solution to the specific needs of each customer. My motto is ‘offer the best product for the application, and always meet the budgets and timescales for the client.”
What challenges are driving many businesses today in the markets you work in?
“A large volume of projects that I get involved with, seem to be always in a rush … to get completed … this can potentially cause some issues for the delivery teams who are working hard to meet the stringent deadlines. I am pleased to say that with the popularity of our loose lay and modular solutions (that both Gerflor and Gradus have within the wide product basket), there is a always a reliable and economical way to fast track a project, whilst reducing downtime on site, saving our customers consistently both time and money.”
What are your favourite Gerflor and Gradus solutions and why?
“The Taraflex® SL (Sustainable Loose Lay) sports vinyl collections are for me a game changer. Ecofriendly and fast to install with no adhesives required and minimal subfloor preparation, they are also extremely easy to clean and maintain. I like the fact that current generations, whether they be athletes or novices, can feel safe and comfortable on our Olympic pedigree sports floors. It is also rewarding to know that many facilities can be future proofed and that the subsequent generations will also one day begin, learn, train and play on a world class Taraflex® sports floor.
The Gradus XT Nosing product range for me, is an ideal solution that qualifies as the ultimate stair edging solution for contract applications. It blends both high performance and remarkable design led aesthetics. It provides the highest safety for building users, as well as an elegant finish to an otherwise bland part of the building process. I like the versatility of this product innovation, suitable for all hardworking interiors including all commercial and most industrial applications and it is competitively priced for all projects.”
What do you like doing in your spare time?
“I am a big ‘family’ guy, so I love spending time with the kids. My eldest has really taken to cycling, so we've been going on lots of bike rides. After retiring from playing rugby for 20 years, I now like to coach the minis and the seniors. More recently, I have gotten into bouldering, and rock climbing and any outdoor activity where I can have an adrenaline rush.”
